One of the groomers was so impressed by how well behaved Rama was that she stopped and told us so. That was very nice to hear. Having worked at a major chain pet store for about 5 years I am familiar with some of the not-so-pleasant pet encounters you can sometimes have at these stores. Having also worked in a grooming department, I definitely understood where she was coming from. I am always proud when people take notice of my dog’s good behavior. We are very lucky we have places like these to take our dogs.
I needed to get some more poo bags and while I took my time examining the different packs of them, Rama–probably figuring we would be a while–settled in the middle of the aisle and watched the shoppers go by.

Once we were done with our shopping at the pet store we walked the length of the plaza. On the opposite end is a Target with benches on which to sit while greeting the people coming and going. Everybody loves visiting with a cute dog, right? Well, ok, not everybody, but the majority of folks do. We got several visitors, including a service dog trainer! She was very nice and liked Rama very much. We even got some shouts of “Beautiful dog!” from passing cars as well as lots of nice attention from two older ladies who just couldn’t stop gushing over her. If I hadn’t been handling my coffee as well as my toddler (I forgot my stroller, ack!), I would have been able to get some lovely shots of all the visiting. One lady told us how she’d just adopted a Bullmastiff from the shelter. Love to hear of happy endings for shelter dogs.
All the while Rama was very good, appearing quite calm and unaffected by all the attention and bustling shoppers. I was very pleased with her behavior.
