Saturday Pet Blogger Hop: Dog Show Results & Away With The Handler

1

October 13, 2012 by Shannon

Things have been a bit crazy (hence my sporadic postings as of late) and I do miss all of my blog friends!  I will soon have more time to blog, as this next week I will be having surgery and pretty much the only thing I will be able to do during my recovery period is type.  It is for this reason that I will be taking on clients during this down time.  If you are in need of a blog setup, shoot me an email.  Gotta support my dog showing habit somehow!
Rama is off with a handler because I won’t be able to show, either.  The surgery involves my chest area so I cannot have anything pulling or tugging, so handling 100+ pound dogs is definitely on the no list.  I miss her.  It’s strangely empty without her here.  Sassy seems to be looking for her around the house, as if she is just around the next corner.
So unless anyone at the show takes photos, I won’t have any new photos to post for a few weeks.  I do, though, have several that I haven’t posted yet so I will work on editing those and getting them up.
Here are some photos from the Deland show a few weeks ago.  Rama did well, taking Reserve Winners both days.  She’d not been out for a while so needless to say she was a bit excited and insisted upon acting like a ding dong.  She wanted to pull me, then she wanted to sit.  She’s usually very calm but that weekend she wore blisters on my hand.  I have no doubt if it weren’t for her silliness we’d gone home with the points that weekend, but c’est la vie.  Add my not-so-dog-show-saavy husband lugging two kids, the toddler’s backpack and a camera through the venue and we were “that” family.  Oh boy was it a circus.
Needless to say the following day we found a sitter.
Arriving at the fairgrounds
Rama raring to go

“Oooh, lookit all the lights!”
Strutting her stuff

Stacking (that’s a huge chunk of liver in my mouth)

A nice lineup.  Rama (handled by Nestor Rodriguez) & Sassy are the first two
